Slideshow of frames

I had a hard time with these pictures because I started to get really wrapped up in exactly what constitutes as a frame, and what is just a pattern, or just one thing in the middle of two taller things, etc.... In my head it would be like "is that a frame?" "no, its more of a border", and those things seem really different. So this is what I ended up with!

  1. Great color frame with the pepper mill and shaker. I know what you meant about obsessing over what is a frame. You did a great job.

  2. I feel as though a "frame" doesn't necessarily have to be a physical set of criteria, ie. "always have three or more sides surrounded" but more of a "put something around your focal point of the photo, either in part or in whole, that augments or enhances the subject." Makes it more beautiful, you could put it. It doesn't need to be geometric at all, but a shape that draws the focus in towards a single object.

  3. Great job....I think you did well, despite your curiosity of weather or not something was a frame. I had a hard time with this assignment as well, and feel like I could have done better. Now that we have seen other's work...it leaves the slate open for us to do some work on our own time to practice! I took many more photos for last weeks assignment this week...than I did for what was actually due this week! I seem to be doing alot of that lately....I feel more comfortable about what I'm working with afetr I have had a chance to see other people phots and also get some feedback! Great Job! Even being doubtful! BTW.... I LOVE those salt and pepper shakers!!

  4. Samantha,

This is an interesting slide show. Many of the photo's kept in line with elements of composition. For example, the peach clogs in between the railings had great central balance.
